As you can see lots of exciting new changes, and more are coming all the time!
Movie of the Week: The Crow
The crow has got to be one of my favorite movies of all time. The movie stars Brandon Lee as Eric Draven, Ernie Husdon (from Ghostbusters) as Sergeant Albrecht, Michael Wincott (voice of prophet in Halo 2) as Top Dollar.
Eric and Shelly are set to be married on Halloween, but Shelly is brutally raped and Eric is killed the night before, on Devil’s Night. Eric comes back one year later to set right the wrongs.
This movie has action, romance and a thriller. This was also the last movie that Brandon Lee was in, as he was killed on the set of this movie with a prop gun.
The movie has pretty much solid goth tone through out the entire movie, which gets old fast. And the acting in spots with the secondary actors is hohum..but its no Gozilla. “Look, *shock* Gojira *run*”
The soundtrack is awesome from this movie too, you have STP, NIN, Helmet, Pantera, Rollins Band, and Jane Sudbury singing It can’t rain all the time, which is the song that Eric Draven’s band plays in the movie.
I highly recommend this movie as it has been a favorite of mine for 15 years now.
Next Movie Review: X-Files : Fight the Future (Thanks Ordal)
Mod of the Week: Cartographer 3.0
Project manager: cknight
This is something I am going to try to do every week, is put up a WoW UI Mod that I think is pretty awesome. Give some information about the Mod, and a link where you can download it.
Cartographer
This is a map addon for World of Warcraft that replaces the map and offers shiny features.
The idea is for it to work very much like Google Maps, only in-game. You double click on where you want to zoom in, and you get a closer view. I love this mod.
Cartographer 3.0 is brand new, “experimental” version of Cartographer.
Cataclysm Stat & System Changes Revealed
We now have a complete breakdown of how the stats and systems of the World of Warcraft will be changing with the release of Cataclysm. This information is absolutely essential to nearly everyone playing, and should be required reading for anyone raiding.
There are too many points to summarize in a neat list. So instead, over the next few days you’ll be hearing from our columnists on how these changes are going to impact individual classes and specs. But, that shouldn’t stop you from spending 15 minutes and reading through the entire list; the game’s basic stats are becoming very very different.
A few of the more major points:
- Stamina — Non-plate wearers will have a lot more.
- Spirit — Only found on healing gear.
- Intellect — Grants spell power.
- MP5 — Gone completely.
- Spell power — Only on weapons, and just to make them clearly a caster item.
- Attack power — Gone on most items.
- Parry — No longer provides 100% avoidance and no longer speeds up attack.
- Resilience — Only affects player damage and player crit damage, no impact on crit chance, mana drains, etc…
- Block Value — Gone, 30% passive block value now when wearing a shield.
- Weapon Skill — Gone completely.
- Gem Color — Few stats changing. Hit will likely become a blue gem (it’s yellow now).
- Defense — Gone, becomes dodge, parry, or block rating.
- Reforging — You’ll be able to reforge gear to customize your stats — 50% of stat X can become stat Y. Restrictions apply (no Stamina->Strength, for instance).
Recent Nvidia drivers causing catastrophic failures
If you’re using an Nvidia graphics card you should check your drivers, as there is a chance the newest drivers could cause your card to overheat during World of Warcraft, the Starcraft II Beta, or even Warcraft III. Blizzplanet reports the issue complete with links to two threads on the Nvidia forums discussing the issue, including one that states that Nvidia will be updating the driver in the near future.
Please check your drivers to make sure you’re not using the versions that cause this problem and roll back if you can.
Datth – Low FPS with Nvidia 196.75 driversWe’re getting reports where users are getting intermittent low FPS after installing these drivers. It seems that it is related to the fan control included in these drivers not working correctly and is causing the video card to overheat on 3D applications. This will affect Warcraft 3, World of Warcraft and StarCraft 2 Beta. Please uninstall the drivers and revert back to the older ones.

Ruby Sanctum: New raid instance leaked!
Leaked Ingame Exploration of the Ruby Sanctum – World of Warcraft’s new raid instance! The instance is intended to be a prelude to Cataclysm (release in patch 3.3.5) and should provide some advancement for the new expansion’s storyline before the 4.0 patch. Video provides high definition footage of the zone and Blizzard’s under development testing areas surrounding it. The zone and graphics are completely made by Blizzard, nothing added, nothing removed.
Taken straight from WoW.com:
While the instance has a similar layout to the Obsidian Sanctum philosophically, the three sub-bosses (Saviana Ragefire, Baltharus the Warborn, and General Zarithrian) will each be own encounter all their own. The “drakes-up” functionality of Sartharion will not carry over into the Halion encounter. Heroic difficulty is likely to be toggled in the same way that heroic difficulties are handled in ICC (a UI toggle).
Saviana, Baltharus, and Zarithrian will each drop an Emblem of Frost, but probably not special loot. Expect loot in the instance to be “about the same item level” as the Lich King items on their respective difficulties. The loot from Halion will be offset pieces as well as trinkets and other items “of that nature.” So, basically, Sartharion loot. The instance is intended to be a prelude to Cataclysm and should provide some advancement for the new expansion’s storyline before the 4.0 patch, drawing on Deathwing’s desire to weaken the Wyrmrest Accord prior to his emergence from Deepholm. Arthas is still considered the final boss of the expansion — this is merely a complementary raid, like Onyxia with ToC, with ties to Cataclysm.

Den Switch lvl 80
The server/NPCs/players etc have all been set to level 80…. I know its a shitty thing but the issue is we have been at this 3 years… blizzard has been tightening the client down further and further … theres only so long I can come up with stuff to fix it. Every time I fix or add workarounds for this stuff we get less and less features working… we have lost a lot of cool stuff due to this tightening of the clients…. So now the players etc are all level ~80. you still get extra talents, and stats will still be set higher(working on the stats now). we will do our best to get this stuff working right and still be unique. I hope you all understand. I am open to suggestions
