Den / Asgard Client 3.3.5 & Database Updates

Den and Asgard have officially moved to 3.3.5 so please use the official launcher or wowwiki to update to 3.3.5 and don’t forget to change your realmlist back to kpsden.com after the update. to automatically change your realmlist please use the Loader : www.kpsden.com/loader/deploy.html (use IE for proper install).

There have also been updates to the Database some of the changes are as following :

  • Northrend flying creatures pathed
  • Onyxia’s re-spawned, with template updates and loot re-write (10men and 25men version)
  • Vault of Archavon re-spawned, with template updates and loot re-write (10men and 25men version)
  • Milling loot re-write
  • Battlemaster data for Isle of Conquest and Strand of the Ancients battlegrounds
  • Icecrown Citadel faction (first floor now works somewhat properly)
  • spawns, gossips, waypoints and equipments for creatures
  • Some quest chains fixes
  • Some trainers, vendors, quests

The above updates are from TDB team. there were also some fixes/workarounds for broken quests etc from KPsN.

Den Asgard Database Update

Another awesome update from TDB for the den/asgard DB :

Server move

Those of you who have been in game or on IRC know we are moving servers over to a newer beefier machine (will post specs later). Well we are ready to start moving, the server DB has been backed up and the move has started. as of now anyone connected to kpsden.com will notice some changes like insane drop rates or open non working instances etc. its just for you guys to have fun. this data will not be carried over to the new server. To reiterate :
You are not losing anything! all chars, items etc will stay as they are.
the server you can connect to atm has a copy of your chars but it isn’t being saved, so go nuts. and enjoy it till the den is back online properly.

I will post a new temporary realm list till kpsden.com transfers over properly.

New realm is online, it is responding to kpsden.com as the realmlist for some people, for those that cant login using kpsden.com, your ISP has slow caches so

Vip2 gear becoming Solarian gear

VIP2 gear has officially been reconditioned to Solarians, so now buying it and trading it in are all Solarian based. armor pieces cost 42 solarian, 1 handed weapons cost 60 and 2 handed weapons cost 70 solarian. So far the reaction is good enough however there were a couple of minor incidents with abuse of glitches. There were a couple items from the v2 conversion that were still giving out denarius instead of solarian in tradeins, only 2 accounts really abused this so far as far as I saw, so they have been disabled, but there were also 4 other accounts with the same IP, they have also been disabled…. hit me up tomorrow if you were affected by this and you better have a damn good excuse. What you guys didnt think everything you do is logged? :)

We have a new system in-game, basically anytime you make a kill, whether its PVP or PVE, you get a chance to have an item added to your inventory automagically. you will get a message letting you know of your win :) Each item has a chance listed next to it. current total chance for PVE for rxample is that on each kill you have a 21% chance to win an item,  Following are the lists:

Your AltBot and You!

I get asked a lot about the bot/merc system and how it works. First the basics, there are two kinds of helpers you can get.

  1. Merc : mercs are simple helpers that are recruited based on their class i.e. Warrior, Priest, Hunter etc. they dont have many options, they cant ordered to do much of anything but are very good low management followers. They come in handy where you dont want to have to bother to micromanage a helper. They can be recruited via the recruiter located on GMi and at various locations ingame.
  2. AltBot : AltBots are your player characters and can only be summoned if you have a special item in your inventory called Charm of fortune. They can be recruited via the recruiter located on GMi and at various locations ingame or via the .bot add command. they are a fully controllable bot, they come pre-equipped to listen to many commands. check below for more info on them.

General Commands:
/stand – will tell the bot to stay and not follow you. Useful for pulling. Note that as soon as mob is in aggro range, he will run and engage combat. So make sure he is far enough back.

/wave – will tell the bot to follow you again

Buffs : to receive buffs /bow to your bot

The bots will also automatically buff your group. You can manually request it if you are not in the group or would like to refresh before it runs out.

Playerbots specifics:
1 To get list of available commands:
/tell altbot help

2. Quest commands:
/tell altbot quests <- lists out quests
/tell altbot abandon <shift click quest> (click on quest from listing)

3. You can share quests with altbots. They will also loot items from corpses and gameobjects. Quests that requires you to ‘explore’ an area currently does not work with pbots.

4. When you turn in a quests, the altbots will also turn in quests (if complete). If multiple rewards are available, they will list them out to you. To select an award /tell altbot_name <shift click on reward>

5. To receive an item from your altbot:

A) Open trade window with altbot. This will list all items in its inventory
B) /tell altbot trade <shift click from list of items>

6. To tell altbot to equip an item:
/tell altbot equip <shift click item>

7. To enchant altbot’s equipment:

A) Inspect altbot
B) Open trade window with altbot
C) /tell altbot trade <shift click on equipment> (this will put equipment in trade window)
D) close inspect window, open enchant window
E) enchant item
F) close trade window

8. Rogue’s can poison their weapons:
/tell altbot poison main (finds first poison and applies it to main hand)
/tell altbot poison off (finds last poison and applies it to off hand)

This is done in case you want to use different types of poison.

9. To tell altbot to cast specific spell:
/tell altbot cast <spell name>

Your target will be the target of the pbot’s spell.

10. You can now tell a altbot to summon a merc. Usage:
/tell altbot npcbot delete
/tell altbot npcbot add <class_type>

12. When you repair your armor, the altbots will repair also.

13. When you click on a flight master, the altbot will learn that flight path if not already learned.

14. To get your altbot to learn new spells from their class trainer:
Select the class trainer
/tell altbot train list <– this will list all new spells available and how much they cost
/tell altbot train <- this will buy all new spells

15. raid command .maintank
Usage: .maintank <Player name>
Sets the main tank of a raid. If the player specified is already the main tank, it clears the selection. Using it with no parameters will state the current main tank.

Notes:
1. Mercs don’t show up in the raid window. The raid window is generally messed up because of this.

2. Mercs are saved so it will return when you log back in.

3. You can only have one merc per altbot.

These bots are made possible by contributions from many, some of whom include : Paradox, Maximus, SunDevil, buggy, SwaLLowed, collinsp, Yad, Peldor, spgm, buggy, and others I cant track down :( sowwy.

Den / Asgard move to 3.3.3a (11723)

Den / Asgard are currently being upgraded to 3.3.3a rev 11723. Please update your clients. Den is down while we perform cleanup and upgrades. please check the source updates page for more info on what went into this update. This update does NOT include a DB update yet.

New Changes to bots!

  • * New command .maintank this is to designate a tank for altbots to focus on.
  • * AltBots aware of a Main Tank, and do whatever they can to assist the Main Tank use .maintank command to designate a player as main tank
  • * AltBots are now threat-aware: Meaning they try to stay below the Main Tanks’ threat, if they can..
  • * AltBots behaviour is now divided into overlapping groups, A Retribution paladin will not be the same with a Prot paladin, Where as a retribution paladin which has 0 attackers would not behave like one that is being attacked..
  • * Every major spell of every class is now being used.. Like hunters’ misdirection, Warrior’s vigilance etc.. There are only a handful of spells that are not being used, like Resistance totems and auras, which are hard to decide when to use for an AI..
  • * AltBots now use their Group Healing abilities if in support role, This behavior is not too intelligent yet, but they may switch to group healing a bit late.. But they do…
  • * AltBots now also cure/cleanse properly.. Shamans even may Purge opponents, the code is there, but it is not tested…
  • * All support classes, try to dps when idle or above some mana threshold…No one just stands there..
  • * AltBots can tank/offtank.. This is also a start only, they only try to protect their master, but they do favor AOE spells if they are in this role..
  • * AltBots never spam spells anymore, meaning they follow the Global CD restrictions..
  • * AltBots never end a spell prematurely.. Spell cast times are very accurately set, and delays (not lag) are taken into account…
  • * Individual ClassAIs need different positions depending on their current group role.. Like an Enh Shaman needs to get into melee range, whereas a restoration shaman needs to stay close but not in melee range etc.. This is now covered..
  • * Individual ClassAIs need different targeting behavior, like a hunter needs to target its pets attacker if there is one, to help saving its pet, or the pet should assist the hunter if it is under attack etc.. So they switch targets a lot under changing circumstances…
  • * due to targeting behavior change, looting behavior also changed to “loot whatever the master is currently looting” from “loot whatever i was attacking”..
  • * AltBots now loot emblems and badges along with q items..
  • * Alot of this stuff might not work well thanx to our extra talent points :( :( :(
  • * Pets might not work well with AltBots
  • * Altbots will have jumpy movement :(

PVP Feature changes

I have coded in some minor restrictions on the regular pvp system on the server.

  • If you attack a player or a player attacks you they have to be within 15 levels of you in order to do damage. If they are above or below that level, there may be damage dealt but no death. (this part will be slightly modified at a later date).
  • If you are in the starter area along with the above rule you also cannot damage a player thats lower than level 10. (this may be tweaked further also)

Den & Asgard VIP Weapon updates

Many of you were aware of issues with VIP weapons, they weren’t recognized properly by the client, you couldn’t enchant them, you couldn’t cast certain spells or use some abilities while having them equipped. Thanx to the hard work of the KPsN Staff (Jason AKA Texan, Redempti0n, Mucak aka headshot) and Zephron, one of our very helpful players :) we have now come up with a working solution. We have moved all our custom items to unused ID’s in the current wow item ID’s. This has many advantages, you can just tradein your old items using .tradein [shift clicked item name] and get the new ones (once they are enabled on the vendors) which will allow the new items to be be enchanted, used with spells and abilities. This isnt perfect, you have to get rid of your old items to get the new ones, also the looks will change for some items so they wont look the same. but it all works now :) thats what matters for the moment. hang tight for more info.
